The approach of a biomechanics problem in human body, requires deep understanding of its anatomy as well as the mechanics in the specific application area. More specifically, the present project constitutes part of a wider research field, which aims at fully understanding the knee biomechanics, modeling with high resolution graphical structures and the extraction of conclusions and predictions on the joint behavior and possible deficiencies.
In technical terms, this project contains modeling and simulation of human knee joint, using rigid and deformable bodies for ligaments, meniscii and articular cartilage. Objective was to estimate the mechanical behavior of knee structures during the execution of some tasks, like an active knee flexion.
